Annual Pumpkin Carving Party
October 25th from 4-6pm: Come ready for an afternoon of pumpkin carving, games, good food, and plenty of fun and fellowship for everyone! We’ll have everything you need for a great time, so bring your creativity and your appetite! As part of our celebration, we’re collecting canned goods to distribute and donate to those in need through the Ascension Food Pantry. Please consider bringing a few nonperishable canned items to help support our neighbors in need. We can’t wait to see you there! Bring your friends, bring your family, and bring a can or two to help make a difference.
Youth Group Summer Mission Trip
For the second summer Ascension‘s Youth Group served with Missions at Massanetta Springs in Harrisonburg, Va. We volunteered at three local farms, Jubilee Farm, Project Grow and Jones Farm. We learned about sustainable farming and reducing the carbon footprint through various techniques. These farms, all help their community by providing fresh produce that is affordable, teaching new farming techniques in the schools, offering internships and providing plots of land for local refugees to farm.
We also spent volunteer time at the Sunnyside retirement home, the Gift and Thrift Store and Emanuel Church Harrisonburg.
The kids and leaders all had a great time being together.
