Youth Group Summer Mission Trip

For the second summer Ascension‘s Youth Group served with Missions at Massanetta Springs in Harrisonburg, Va.  We volunteered at three local farms, Jubilee Farm, Project Grow and Jones Farm. We learned about sustainable farming and reducing the carbon footprint through various techniques. These farms, all help their community by providing fresh produce that is affordable, teaching new farming techniques in the schools, offering internships and providing plots of land for local refugees to farm.
We also spent volunteer time at the Sunnyside retirement home, the Gift and Thrift Store and Emanuel Church Harrisonburg.
The kids and leaders all had a great time being together.
